Cairo Festival City Mall collaborates with the Egyptian Food Bank to deliver thousands of food packages across Egypt during the holy month of Ramadan
On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, Cairo Festival City Mall, in collaboration with the Egyptian Food Bank, conducted a large-scale initiative to distribute thousands of food boxes to approximately 20,000 underprivileged individuals throughout Cairo and Upper Egypt as part of its ongoing efforts to support Egyptian society through its role in social responsibility across various sectors.
This collaborative effort is part of a series of community initiatives launched by Cairo Festival City Mall to support various segments of Egyptian society by aiding vulnerable groups in meeting their basic needs by providing them with food during the holy month of Ramadan, as the mall prioritizes the growth and prosperity of Egyptian communities.
Commenting on this collaboration, Heba Abdullah, Head of Marketing and Corporate social responsibility at Cairo Festival City Mall, stated, “Cairo Festival City Mall has always supported this food distribution campaign which has become a Ramadan tradition through our collaborations with different parties as it helps delivering the basic food needs for less fortunate families in Cairo and other cities. The hardship that many people face during this blessed month requires us to double our efforts in order to help as many people as possible and make a difference in their daily lives, especially during these unprecedented times.”
For his part, Mohsen Sarhan, CEO of Egyptian Food Bank, said, “We are glad of this fruitful cooperation with Cairo Festival City Mall, which would enable us to give a hand to the beneficiaries during the holy month of Ramadan. We are currently working on an extensive feeding campaign in which, we aim to distribute food boxes as part of our social responsibility to support the Egyptian society by providing the basic nutritionals to the less privileged. Cairo Festival City Mall CSR strategy goes in line with Egyptian food bank’s goal of human development that aims to provide a decent life for the Egyptian citizens, through providing safe and healthy food”.
This is not the first time that Cairo Festival City Mall has collaborated with NGOs to provide meal packages during the holy month of Ramadan in regards to its community development initiatives.
Furthermore, in recent months, Cairo Festival City Mall has launched a number of development projects in various fields across many governorates in Egypt, believing in the importance of giving back to society as it is committed to launching many initiatives to alleviate the burdens and challenges that some segments of society face.
Those initiatives included, the opening of the Al-Muqatila School for Community Education in Fayoum and the participation in the “Sattr we Dafa” initiative to reconstruct houses in Aswan Governorate to face the cold wave, as well as the payment of debts for indebted mothers to reunite them with their families, were among the most visible of these projects. All of these initiatives are part of the “Festival Cares” program which is the umbrella for all of the mall’s social responsibility activities.
